Worship & Visiting

The Chapel Royal Establishment

The Chapel Royal at Hampton Court Palace is a part of the ecclesiastical Household of His Majesty The King. His Majesty provides this beautiful place of worship and its establishment of a Chaplain, a Director of Music and a full-time Choir for all who may wish to worship here.

The Chapel Royal is a living, vibrant church with heavenly music, located at the heart of the historic palace. Everyone is welcome to attend the sung religious services at The Chapel Royal or to visit the place where Kings and Queens have worshipped for centuries.

The Chapel Royal has always been an active church within the Church of England: its services are traditional, according to the Book of Common Prayer of 1662.

Our usual arrangement for services

Except during the summer recess, the Choir sings on Sundays at 11.00 a.m. and 3.30 p.m.

The Eucharist is celebrated every Sunday at 8.30 a.m (all year round), and on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 12.30 p.m. (term time only).

The Blessed Sacrament is reserved in the tabernacle in the niche to the north of the High Altar for the Communion of the sick and as a focus for devotion to the sacramental presence of our Lord and for prayer.

Occasional services such as baptisms, confirmations, marriages and funerals can only be arranged for regular worshippers at the Chapel Royal.
